The Fleurieu Coast Youth Advisory Committee (FCYAC) is made up of young people aged 12-25 years who meet regularly to plan events, determine the risks and barriers involved in them, work through issues and assist in delivery of local events and activities for youth.
FCYAC provides a great opportunity for young people to be heard, develop skills, consult with local youth and influence Government decisions.
The Fleurieu Coast Youth Advisory Committee program aims to get young people actively involved in their local communities by participating in youth-related projects, conducting events and influencing decision on issues important to young people.
Members of YAC have the opportunity to become involved in making decisions about matters that affect young people living in their local council area. In the process, it gives young people the opportunity for personal growth, acquire and refine leadership skills and to develop as young people.
