The ‘What is Democracy?’ animated video provides a fun introduction to some of the key features of Australian democracy. Developed by the Australian Human Rights Commission, in partnership with Cool Australia, this video is part of an educational unit aimed at Year 8 students about rights and freedoms in Australia.

These resources are designed to assist students in building a critical understanding of human rights and responsibilities, and to develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills to apply human rights in everyday life.
